And what about the name of cattery ? Why ROMANOV?

The peterbald breed was created in Sankt-Petersburg, Russia by breeder Tatiana Komarova and felinologist Olga Mironova.

The name of this breed was given by Olga Mironova in honnor of Russian Emperor Peter The Great.

So the first part of the name is Peter and she added bald. She was inspired that by the monument of Peter The Great created by Michail Shemyakin where Peter The Great at his age of 50 and he is bald.

As Peter The Great was from royal dynasty of Romanov, we were inspired to take his last name to complete the sense of royalty and elegancy of this breed.

We try to find the old Russian names with nice meaning for our kittens.

To us the Peterbald is His Majesty! Hope for you will be too!
